Local community projects
Grants for community groups and organisations delivering projects that benefit Ashton-in-Makerfield residents.
Here for our community since 1588
Founded in 1588, the charity’s original purpose was to provide linen and woollen clothing to those in need. Today we continue that legacy by offering grants and assistance to residents of Ashton-in-Makerfield experiencing financial hardship or other challenges.
A volunteer board of trustees oversees our work and makes sure every penny is used to benefit local people.

The grant helped us buy school uniforms for our children when money was really tight. It made such a difference to us as a family.
Without the support of the charity, one of my clients would have gone without essential household items. The referral process was quick and easy.
As a community group, we were able to fund equipment that benefits dozens of local families. The charity’s help has been invaluable.
